Details
Designed for general garden use, ideal for pruning small branches, flowers, and houseplants. Each piece is hand forged and sharpened using traditional methods and has it’s own variations and irregularities. This pair has had it’s handles bound in tan leather and waxed thread.
The cowhide leather is designed to lend comfort to the hand and makes these shears beautifully tactile and hard to put them down. This leather will patinate with exposure to sweat, sun and sap. Expect this as a matter of course for your pair of secateurs as they grow to reflect the useful life you have in store for them.
Toyama Hamono have specialized in making pruning shears, snips and secateurs since early 1860’s. The handles for these are drop forged and edge is sharpened to a beautiful convex curve. They come boxed with a blade sheath.
Length: 200mm
Cutting Edge: 70mm
High carbon steel construction throughout
Handmade in Japan.Care and Maintenance – never cut hard objects with these Secateurs. They are designed to cut raw branches and stems. Never sharpen the back of your blade as it will harm the product. Finally, like all professional cutting tools, to prolong blade life wipe down with a solvent/lubricant at the end of each day to prevent sap build up. We recommend Yanipika and camellia oil.
